We were on the road much of Saturday, trying to make it at least halfway to Moab from Kanab and see Monument Valley at the same time. We found a place to stay for the night in Bluff, Utah, a really cute little town 20 miles northeast of Monument Valley. We arrived around 3pm, eating veggie hot dogs as fast as we could and backtracking to the iconic western movie locale. The drive was awesome so we didn’t mind the extra time on the road but we were surprised by the road in the park, a steep and unfinished road loaded with people though not so much that you couldn’t pull off and take all the photos you wanted. We continuously saw cars like convertible sports cars, Mercedes and other luxury cars on the rough road, in no way meant for low cars, they too must have been surprised by the road conditions but unlike us, they weren’t in a 4wd truck. Somehow, we only heard one person scrape bottom and they turned around and left soon after.
